Roblox

Roblox usernames are locked to letters, numbers and underscores, 3 to 20 characters, and cannot be changed to include styled Unicode at all — that's a hard platform rule, not a rendering issue. Display names are the more flexible field and support a wider character range, but they still go through Roblox's moderation filter, so a styled display name can be rejected or reset even when the characters themselves are valid Unicode.

Tips for Roblox

  • Your Roblox username will never accept styled Unicode — it's restricted to letters, numbers and underscores by the platform itself, not by font support.
  • A display name change goes through Roblox's own moderation before it's accepted; this site can generate valid Unicode characters, but can't predict or guarantee what Roblox's filter will allow.
  • Test any display name change directly in Roblox rather than assuming it will save just because it displays correctly here.

Compatibility

This page describes character rules and moderation behavior, not visual rendering — Roblox's display name filter operates independently of whether a given Unicode style is broadly supported elsewhere.
